MATTY A
IS A RECORD
PRODUCER
FROM BROOKLYN
Independent record producer & multi-instrumentalist Matty Amendola is a uniquely determined artist on the New York & national music scene. As a performing musician for nearly 20 years, he's recorded on countless albums and has shared all kinds of stages, from late-night NYC jams with Adam Levine (Maroon 5) to massive corporate events for Nike & IBM, prestigious hometown venues like Radio City Music Hall with Ty Taylor (Vintage Trouble) and across the airwaves on MTV's TRL with The Classic Futures. In 2008, he started music incubator 825 Records, Inc. and has used it as a vehicle to produce and develop content for a wide-ranging roster of independent artists, Fortune 500 companies, and many other notable brands.
As a songwriter, Amendola has landed worldwide broadcast placements with original music in commercials for MetLife (2013 NFL Superbowl & World Baseball Classic) and hundreds of song placements with other 825 Records' artists, playlists in retail stores, and original scores. Matty has also periodically released solo material, beginning with his first release in 2007, where he budded a brotherly partnership with Grammy Award Winning audio engineer and mentor Butch Jones (Rolling Stones, Talking Heads).
Matty's sound is creative, lively, saturated, and filled with dynamic surprise as an engineer and mixer. His vintage nods are familiar but driven by a modern urban punch. On either side of the glass, Matty's hybrid workflow and personal collection of vintage instruments and microphones have allowed him to wear multiple caps when working closely with a solo artist or left to his own devices, like on his upcoming EP release, "UP."
Penned a "Great Gretsch Educator" by the renowned brand he also endorses, Matty's holistic approach to engineering and mixing has led to teaching clinics that span the coast, including MixCon, The Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, and Music Career Mastermind. His experience creating industry-lauded educational tutorials on engineering and production is vast, having worked with Sonicscoop.com, Universal Audio, Plugin Alliance, Telefunken, Soundtoys, and more.
Furthermore, Matty has had the pleasure (in some capacity) to record or play with some other notable names such as: Curtis King Jr (Bruce Springsteen), Hans DeKline, Michael MacIvor & Carley Coma (Candiria), Vinny Zummo (Joe Jackson), Brian Young & Jody Porter (Fountains Of Wayne), Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Leslie West, Tituss Burgess (Broadway/TV), Justin Guarini (American Idol), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters), Dodie Pettit (Broadway), Jay Messina (Aerosmith), Mark Hudson (Ringo Starr), Hugh McCracken, Steve Lukather (Toto), Nuttin' But Stringz (America's Got Talent), Tom Scott, Ty Taylor (Vintage Trouble), Paul Gilbert, John Blackwell (Prince), Vinny Appice, Madame Mayhem, Will Lee, Michal Mangini, Nick Diaz, George Small (John Lennon), Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Charles Perry, Gary Hoey, Kenli Mattus, Mike "Metal" Goldberg, Dunn Pearson Jr, Bette Sussman, Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy), Elaine Caswell, Carmine Rojas (David Bowie), Bruce Kulick (KISS), Jon Paris, Temar Underwood, Dave Matos, Mark Rivera, Tinker Barfield, Frank Perry, Denny Seiwell (Wings), Kip Winger, Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel), Giovanni Hidalgo, Jena Kraus (Blind Melon), Teddy Andreadis (Guns N' Roses), Gary Van Syoc, Matt Williams (Coheed & Cambria), Janice Pendarvis, Elliot Easton (The Cars), John Moyer (Disturbed), among many others.
